It is recommended that electric heating tape insulation products with high mechanical properties should be selected as the first choice for electric heating in humid areas.
Taking the self-limiting temperature electric heating product as an example, choose explosion-proof protective or explosion-proof and anti-corrosion electric heating. The outer sheath of the explosion-proof protective electric heating is made of polyolefin material, which has high safety performance, waterproof insulation, and high mechanical strength. In addition, the outer sheath of the explosion-proof and anti-corrosion self-limiting temperature electric heating cable is made of fluoroplastic, which has good anti-corrosion performance and good use effect. It is also suitable for use in humid areas for pipe insulation. Explosion-proof protective self-controlling temperature electric heating can effectively protect the internal core belt from the outside world and prevent moisture and rain erosion.
In addition, mold is easy to grow in some humid areas, which will corrode the outer sheath of the electric heating cable. At this time, choose an electric heating cable with a fluoroplastic sheath, which is corrosion-resistant and has a long service life, good performance, and is suitable for humid environments. Precautions for installing electric heating in humid areas:
1. The power supply of electric heating should be equipped with leakage protection device as the basic, and whether it is explosion-proof device should be selected. Because in a humid environment, if any waterproof measures are not done well, leakage is very likely to occur. So avoid danger. We need to take safety devices in the implementation of power supply.
2. Use a junction box with waterproof protection performance for the connection between. Eliminate non-waterproof insulating tape or unstable wiring methods to cause shedding; when using the junction box, the junction box should not be called upward to avoid rain infiltration. When installing the junction box, use sealant (also known as 703 silicone) to fix it. This 703 sealant has waterproof and anti-aging effects.
3. In outdoor humid areas, external insulation must increase waterproof measures to avoid long-term heating of electric heating belts in low temperature conditions, which will affect the service life of electric heating products.
4. After the electric heating system is installed, a warning label should be attached to the pipe where the electric heating belt is installed.
